Industries worldwide face growing pressure to improve efficiency, resilience, and decarbonization. Yet, McKinsey reports that over 70% of digital transformation initiatives fail to scale, and more than 60% of industrial companies cannot fully leverage real-time data for operational decisions, while unplanned downtime still reduces productivity by 15–20%. In response, the World Economic Forum’s Global Lighthouse initiative sets a global benchmark for scaling Industry 4.0. By integrating AI, automation, digital twins, and IoT-enabled systems, organizations can achieve significant efficiency gains, reduce emissions, and unlock new value chains. According to the International Energy Agency, digital solutions and AI-driven optimizations could deliver up to 40% of the emissions reductions needed by 2050. For Azerbaijan, adopting these “Global Lighthouse” principles represents a strategic step into Industry 4.0—enhancing productivity, sustainability, and long-term competitiveness through smarter, connected energy and industrial systems.
This event, co-hosted by SOCAR and 4SİM (Host of Center for Fourth Industrial Revolution Azerbaijan) , will gather leaders to discuss impactful climate action and investment in a net-zero.
